Most of us don’t stop to think about our daily routines until something forces us to pay attention. For me, that wake-up call came in the form of a hospital visit that would change everything.

The Beginning: When Your Body Demands Attention

I’ve always had a natural curiosity for learning and growth, but it had never really been focused on my health until I couldn’t ignore it anymore. Developing intolerances. Constant breakouts. It makes it hard to recognize the body you’re in.

But it wasn’t until I landed myself in the hospital that I truly began my health journey.

Discovery: From Curiosity to Obsession

My curiosity eventually led me to skincare, and I became obsessed. I dove deep into ingredient lists, researching what truly nourishes the skin versus what creates dependency or harm. What started as a private hobby I enjoyed became a full-blown passion project.

At first, it was just for me. Learning. Experimenting. Finding products that worked with my skin instead of against it.

The Turning Point: When It Became Bigger Than Me

Then a family friend got cancer.

It brought back memories—memories of my own aunt facing a similar diagnosis years prior. Watching these women fight for their lives while also worrying about what they were putting on their skin, in their homes, on their bodies during an already overwhelming battle.

It opened my eyes to the fact that this journey is so much closer than I thought. That it’s bigger than me. And that it doesn’t have to be done alone.

Why Selah Soaps Exists

These women were fighting for their lives, and I wanted to support them by making sure they wouldn’t have to worry about at least one daily aspect of that fight. I wanted to create products they could trust completely—knowing that what they’re putting on their skin is clean, safe, and truly beneficial.
